We will be the first to admit that getting up early for morning news is hard! So, we understand if 84-year-old crooner Harry Belafonte tried to catch up on his shut-eye during a TV news interview this week.
Belafonte was lined up for a satellite interview with KBAK in Bakersfield, Calif. When the anchor said, "Hey, good morning Harry!" the singer continued to lounge, eyes closed. A few more pleas of, "Wake up, wake up!" did nothing to stir him.
Belafonte's publicist says it was a technical glitch, and that Belafonte was meditating before the interview and couldn't hear the anchor's chipper wake up calls.
