Another Power Problem Causes Headaches at KCI
Another power outage earlier this week at Kansas City International Airport caused problems for passengers at Terminal B on Thursday morning.
According to airport officials, crews turned off power to the terminal overnight to make permanent repairs following Tuesday morning’s power outage, but the repairs took longer than expected and when the system came back on, computers at the Southwest Airlines gate were not working.
Officials say that the computers are working now.
In addition, the power outage caused problems for the terminal’s baggage X-ray screening machines, which require some time to warm up before they can be used. The delay caused a large back-log of luggage waiting to be checked by security.
Officials said that everything was back to normal at the airport by mid-morning.
