Lee’s Summit is about to get a whole lot brighter.
When the Mayor flips the switch at the City’s Christmas Lighting Friday night 100,000 lights will glow throughout downtown. Businesses will be open late for those wanting to do a little shopping and a special visitor will make his official holiday debut in Lee’s Summit.
“It gets you in the holiday spirit,” said Trisha Drape with Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street
. “All these shops, they’re beautiful shops and they’re open and it’s night and the lights are on. It’s just very festive. And the kids are excited and Santa’s here. It’s just a good time to come down to downtown Lee’s Summit.”
It all starts at 6:00 p.m. at Howard Station Park near the corner of 3rd and Mains Streets. There will be free hot chocolate, musical performances and a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus and his elves.
