Visit OP with “Groups” Feature Sees Success

The Overland Park Convention Center and Visitor’s Bureau recently launched an app with one very unique feature.

The app is called Visit OP and it’s compatible with all smart phones. The unique feature has been dubbed “Groups,” and it benefits conventions, businesses and sporting organizations that hold events in the Overland Park area.

By request, a password protected mobile page for a convention is created, which can then include a variety of exclusive content for those attending the event.

“We provide them with a password and they can actually include their agendas, their speaker biographies, maps to their off site events, links to YouTube videos that their director shoots as a welcoming message,” said Liron Bendor, vice president of marketing.

Bendor said since launching the app in July they’ve created 11 mobile app pages for corporations, associations and sporting events. She added that they are already working to launch several Group pages in early 2012.

The Visit OP app also features area event listings, coupons, contests, a visitor’s guide and area attractions. For more information, click visitoverlandpark.com.
