DALLAS — Kansas State wide receiver Tyler Lockett has earned Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year honors following an injury-shortened but stellar season returning kicks for the Wildcats, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Lockett was second on the Wildcats in receiving with 18 catches for 246 yards and three touchdowns, and was second in the nation with a 35.2 yard kickoff return average. He also returned kicks for touchdowns in two consecutive games this season, against Texas Tech and Kansas. He missed the last few games of the season after suffering a kidney injury.

On Monday, K-State coach Bill Snyder was named Big 12 Coach of the Year.

University of Kansas offensive lineman Jeremiah Hatch was named second-team All-Conference.

The University of Missouri, in their final season in the Big 12 before heading to the SEC in 2012, had two players named first-team All Conference – sophomore RB Henry Josey and TE Michael Egnew.
