KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities have closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 and a number of other highways in western Kansas due to blizzard conditions.
According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, eastbound I-70 is closed from Colby to Wakeeney due to the snowy conditions and a lack of accommodations in the area. The westbound lanes are still open.
In addition, authorities have closed U.S. 54 in both directions from the Oklahoma state line to Meade, U.S. 160 in both directions between the Colorado state line and the U.S. 160/K-27 intersection, U.S. 50 in both directions from the Colorado state line to Garden City, U.S. 83 in both directions from Liberal to Garden City and K-96 in both directions from the Colorado state line to the K-96/K-27 junction.
