Sears to Close its Doors on Two Metro Stores

Sear Holdings Corp. announced it will close 100 of its stores. Those in the Kansas City area include Grand/Essentials located at 601 North M-291 in Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Sears Full-Line, located at 2727 Iowa St., in Lawrence, Kan.

Although slated to close, the exact dates are yet to be announced.

Sears experienced falling sales in recent years and hopes to refocus efforts on stores that have proven more successful.

Sears Holdings Corp. has a 125-year history that began with a mail-order catalog in the 1800s.
