Homicide Rates Increase in KCMO
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The homicide rate has increased over the last two years. This year alone 114 people were murdered on the streets of Kansas City. That means, on average three people are dying every day.
Retired FBI Agent Jeff Lanza says he believes the reason for the increasing rate is because of Kansas City’s location. Being in the middle of the country, he says Kansas City serves as a crossroads for drug trafficking, which leads to more crime in the area.
Fox 4′s Macradee Aegerter explains how the murder rate compares to years past, and to other cities across the country this year.
