Police: Bones May Be Linked to Abandoned Car
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities say that they have identified the gender and race of a skeleton found on the city’s Old Northeast neighborhood last week.
According to Kansas City Missouri Police, the bones belonged to a white man, but police say that they still haven’t positively identified the man, or released the cause of death.
Hikers found the remains in a remote wooded area near Cliff Drive and Chestnut last Thursday. Investigators say that the bones – which could have been there for about a year – may be linked to a car found abandoned in the area last year.
Police say that they also recovered a firearm, as well as some scattered clothing, from the scene.
