Raytown Police Shoot and Kill Rifle-Wielding Man

RAYTOWN, Mo. — Police are investigating after an officer shot a man and killed who was reportedly threatening his roommate and then police with a rifle.

According to police, officers were called to a home in the 9000 block of 79th Street around 3:00 p.m. to investigate a report of a man threatening his roommate with a rifle. When officers arrived, they say that they were confronted by the man outside of the house.

Police say that the suspect was shot once after he challenged officers with the rifle. He was disarmed and taken into custody. He was then taken to an area hospital where he later died of his wounds.

The identity of the suspect has not been released. The incident is still under investigation.
