KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City will be the recipient of funds to help rehabilitate foreclosed homes for low-income housing.

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is giving around $740,000 in grants to the city and other organizations to help rehab the homes for low-income homeowners and other similar projects.

Officials with the City Union Mission say that they will use a portion of the funds to help improve its family center. The Family Center campus has 48 units of housing for homeless families, but officials say that the buildings need exterior roof and wall work.
