Police Search for 2 Men in Merriam Hotel Death Case
MERRIAM, Kan. — Police say that they are looking for two men described as persons of interest in the homicide of a metro woman at a Merriam hotel room.
Authorities say that they want to question Gregory Ojeda, 24, and Jason Munjak, 36, in connection to the January 20th death of 37-year-old Toby Rock at the Homestead Suites hotel in Merriam.
Rock’s body was found by a maid at the hotel, located near I-35 and Shawnee Mission Parkway. Police have not said how the mother of five died, but say that there were obvious signs of trauma.
The Merriam Police Department is investigating the case, with help from the Metro Squad and the Johnson County Crime Lab.
The woman’s mother and sister say she struggled with a drug addiction, but never exposed it to her children and spent regular time with them. Rock lived with her family and kids in Topeka, but often visited the Kansas City area. Her family wants to let the public know she meant a lot to them.
“I want everyone to know that she has family, people that love her, children that love her,” said the victim’s mother Kathy Bowman.
