KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A woman who suffered a brutal death has been identified. Police say Peggy Perez was left in a bed for three days then wrapped in plastic and thrown in a Cass County creek.

The victim’s sister says Perez met Lance Gross at the VFW Bar in Kansas City about two months ago. Ada Perez says the pair started dating and within weeks her sister moved in with Gross hoping to start a new life together.

The family is now shocked to hear Gross and his brother Marlin are charged in connection with Perez’s murder. According to court documents, Perez died during rough sex on January 20th. Court papers say Gross stated he injected Perez with liquid valium and choked her with a dog collar around her neck.

“When I found out about it, I was in complete and utter shock,” said Genesis Valez, the victim’s niece. “I still can’t believe it.”

The victim’s sister, Ada Perez says she became suspicious after she didn’t hear from her sister for several days. She says when she called Gross on January 26th, he claimed her sister left with another man.

Now, the family is hurting and they hope police will soon find the second suspect, Marlin Gross as they prepare to bury their loved one.
