“Soul Train” Host Don Cornelius Dead at 75

LOS ANGELES — Don Cornelius, founder and host of the long-running television dance program “Soul Train,” was found dead on Wednesday morning of an apparent suicide in his Los Angeles home, according to a report on TMZ.

Cornelius was 75.

According to Los Angeles Police, Cornelius died of a gunshot wound in his home on Mulholland Drive.

Cornelius was the smooth, deep-voiced host of “Soul Train”, which helped to change the landscape of television during its 1971-2006 run.
