Early-Morning Fire Destroys Lawrence Building

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Fire destroyed a city-owned building near the city’s Public Works garage early Monday morning.

According to authorities, fire destroyed the building which belonged to the city’s Parks and Recreation Department in the 1100 block of Haskell just before 5:00 a.m. on Monday morning.

There were no reports of injuries. There is no word yet on what was stored in the building. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
