KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police say there were obvious signs of foul play in the home of a woman found dead by a relative Tuesday afternoon near 47th & Overton on Kansas City's east side.
The relative went to the woman's home at about 2 p.m. Tuesday to check on her because she hadn't been heard from since Monday evening at about 6 p.m. The relative used a key to enter the woman's house and found her there.
Police describe the victim as a woman in her mid-50s. They have not released how she died but do consider her death a murder and have activated the murder squad.
