HARRISONVILLE, Mo. — A Blue Springs man and his brother are scheduled to appear in a Jackson County courtroom on Wednesday on charges that they abandoned the corpse of a woman in a creek.

Lance Gross, 52, and Marlin Gross, 49, are charged with abandoning the corpse of 48-year-old Peggy Perez in a Cass County creek. According to Blue Springs Police, Perez died in Lance Gross’ home on January 20th while the couple were having sex.

Prosecutors say that Lance Gross waited for three days before calling his brother in to help wrap Perez’s body in plastic and throw it in a creek.

According to the victim’s sister, Perez met Lance Gross at a VFW bar in Kansas City late last year, and that the two were dating.

Marlin Gross turned himself into police earlier this month after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Lance Gross, who investigators say led police to the area where he believed he dumped Perez’s body, is being held on $150,000 bond.
