FOX 4 Cost Cutters: Meal Plan for the Week

You can save a ton of money on your grocery bill if you’ll make one little change.  Build a meal plan for your family around what’s on sale each week.  Here is mine — starting with the sales on 2/16.  It is based around what i’m buying this week and what I have in the pantry and freezers.  This week isn’t anything spectacular … but it will get us fed next week!

BREAKFAST

  • Fruit (on sale at Aldi)
  • Banana Bread (bananas on sale at Aldi)
  • Cereal (from the pantry)

LUNCH

  • Chef Salad (salad and dressing on sale at Hy-Vee)
  • Sandwiches (lunchmeat on sale at Hen House), chips (on sale at Price Chopper), fruit (on sale at Aldi), Snak-Saks (on sale at Price Chopper)
  • Stuffed Baked Potatoes (potatoes on sale at Price Chopper) with the chili verde leftovers from below

DINNER

  • Roast, potatoes, frozen veggies (all on sale at Price Chopper)
  • Chili Verde (using pork on sale at Price Chopper) Fritos, (on sale at Price Chopper), Onion Relish
  • Stirfry (on sale at Aldi), rice
  • My Spin on this 15 Bean Enchiladas Recipe (canned beans on sale at Hy-Vee), chips, salad
  • Grilled Chicken (from the freezer), frozen veggies, Bob Evans Refrigerated Side Dish (from Hy-Vee)
  • BBQ Ribs (on sale at Price Chopper), Onion Relish, salad
  • Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya, salad
