Veterans Put Military Training to Use
HOUSTON, Tex. — Veterans are returning home and looking to get back into the work force. A Houston company is looking to put their experience to work.
SEAL Security was started three years. Security guards were used to guard merchant ships traveling dangerous pirate-infested waters in Africa. The company has added personal security and property protection to its duties.
Veterans are able to use tactics they learned in the military culture to be successful now that they’re back in society.
“There were things that I was doing in the military that I was going, ‘okay, I’m getting ready to get out,” said Matt Ross, veteran. “Where am I gonna’ be able to use this?’. Then I got into the law enforcement and security field and found that it was almost a direct transition.”
A spokesperson for the company says the jobs are also a repayment of debt of thanks.
“There’s several VA connections that we connect with on a daily basis to recruit these people in and if I could hire everyone of them I would,” said James Alexander with SEAL Security. “That’s another end of my business to increase business so I can hire as many of these people as possible.”
