KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The University of Kansas Hospital says it plans to start doing heart transplants although it didn’t announce a timetable.  St. Luke’s is currently the only metro hospital doing them.

FOX 4 Medical Reporter Meryl Lin McKean says the announcement comes 17 years after KU’s program was shut down amid serious problems.
