Kansas Student Wins Handwriting Contest

TOPEKA, Kan. (KTMJ) — A Kansas sixth grader has won a national award for her handwriting skills.

Megan Lucas was named a grand champion in the annual Zaner-Bloser Handwriting Contest. The competition is sponsored by a company that publishes handwriting guides. She earned $1,000 and a trophy for her efforts.

Contest entries were judged based on size, shape, spacing and slant.
