Man Breaks Through Glass, Stabs TV Station Employees
TOPEKA, Kan — A disgruntled man broke into WIBW-TV Wednesday morning and stabbed two people before he was tackled by other employees.
According to WIBW, the man told the receptionist on the front lobby phone that he was upset by the way the Veterans Administration was handling his case. The receptionist told him he’d have to talk to the news director, but that he wasn’t available at the time.
The man left but about ten minutes later he came back, agitated and demanded access again. He started moving a sofa and then unplugged a lamp and smashed it through the glass front doors.
The receptionist called police.
The man started wandering through the hallways and told one employee to “hit him.”
The man apparently had a black and green backpack slung over his shoulder.
Several employees then tackled the man when someone noticed he had pulled a knife and began threatening to kill them all. He stabbed the sales manager in the leg and also cut a sales associate.
