KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- New curfew rules are now in effect across Kansas City, as anyone under the age of 18 is no longer allowed to hang out in the city's entertainment districts without a parent or guardian.

The new rules are meant to limit problems with large groups of kids, especially on the Country Club Plaza. The new rules aren't popular with many teens, but at least one parent told FOX 4 that she welcomes the changes.

"I think it's a good thing, because when I was younger my mom gave me a curfew, five o'clock, so they lucky to get nine," said mother Yolanda Trottman. "So that's a very good thing."

Under the new rules, teens under the age of 18 will have to go home by 9:00 p.m. Kelsie and Karlie Super, 16-year-old twin sisters from Overland Park, say that they spend almost every weekend at the Plaza with their friends. They say that they understand the need for the curfew, but they say that the time stinks.

"I don't think it's, like, fair, because nine seems pretty early," said Karlie Super. "I feel curfew is a good idea, but the curfew still kind of early."
