Paying It Forward to a Woman Who Saves Exotic Animals
BELTON, Mo. — A pet store owner who finds good homes for exotic animals made an impression on her accountant.
Bruce McFarland does taxes for Sherri Baer and knows that she’s struggling, despite the good she does at Sherri’s Pet Emporium in Belton.
“She’s very giving. She gives a lot to the animals. She gives a lot to the community and she’s struggling right now really, really bad,” McFarland said.
Sherri rescues exotic pets that the city of Belton finds abandoned or abused. McFarland hopes a computer and $300 from FOX 4′s Pay It Forward program, will help Sherri.
“They’re malnourished or sick or whatever and she takes them to the vet and all her money is going to this. Then she adopts them back out, to good homes and she’s so far in debt to the vet right now,” he said.
