It’s not as easy as it looks folks!!
We are seeing some increasing chances for rain coming up in the forecast! Woohoo! For those of you ritually performing your rain dances, your hard work will pay off. It seems as though tonight some storms are popping up to the west and bringing in some slight chances of rain in the late hours of the evening to early morning tomorrow. It looks like the best chances will be around 3-4 a.m.
There are also chances of rain in the forecast the beginning of next week starting late Sunday night and lasting through Tuesday. It is still of a ways off but we will be keeping an eye on its development to determine just how much rain we can expect.
As for the rest of the work week and into the weekend, we expect to see some sunny skies. The low 90′s seems to be pretty popular and what you can expect to see over the next few days.
Your weather update today has been brought to you by Ariele Daniel, I have always wanted to say something like that . Anyways, for most of you who don’t know I am the FOX 4 Weather Intern for the summer. I spend the majority of my Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s here in the studio working with Mike Thompson. It’s my 3rd week on the job and I am learning more and more everyday, and let me tell you it is not as easy as it looks. I have been assisting Mike with his forecasts and helping to put together the content that he shares with you on the nights I am here. It is a long process with many more steps than I would have imagined.
For most of you wondering how in the world a person would come about wanting to be a meteorologist, I like to tell everyone it’s because I still get paid even if I am wrong! That’s not really true but everyone likes to make fun of me for that when I tell them what I want to be. I have wanted to be a meteorologist since I was 3-years-old. Something about that 1996 Twister movie sealed the deal. I have been drawing weather fronts on Saturday morning, from the Weather Channel, with my crayons since I can remember – you’ll be glad to know it’s a little more sophisticated here in the studio. Anyways, I am currently in my final year at Kansas State University pursuing a degree in Physics where I will then go on to get my masters in Meteorology. It’s a long hard ride but I am more than halfway done and excited about it.
Being here at FOX 4 for the summer only makes me more excited to attend graduate school and possibly be one of the next faces you see on TV. Make sure you watch every night and maybe you will get the opportunity to see one of my awesome 3-D graphics that I would say are better than Mike’s but maybe I am a little biased. Until next time I will keep doing my rain dances here at the studio to help make sure we get that rain that is so needed around the area and you all make sure you keep up with yours at home as well, I don’t want to be doing all of the work!
