SEDALIA, Mo. — A number of people who live on south Sneed in Sedalia are breathing a big sigh of relief after the arrests of an alleged meth-making duo. Before the crack of dawn Tuesday, undercover officers with the Sedalia Police Department,  stormed inside a small house on south Sneed and arrested Darrick Brown and his girlfriend, Shannon Walters.

Both are now facing a long list of charges including making and selling meth near Horace Mann Elementary School, possessing drug paraphernalia and child endangerment. Investigators tell FOX 4, Walters’
three children, who are all under the age of 10, were inside the residence at the time of the drug bust. Josie Thomas has lived in the neighborhood for nine years.

“It’s a very big relief,” Thomas said. “I can feel safe in my own home again, now.”

Another neighbor who has lived in the area for 50 years said she’s glad the area will be safe for children.

“I’m a grandma and a great-grandma and I don’t believe in having kids around this stuff. It’s wrong, ” said Shirley Pettit.

Walters and Brown remain in the Pettis County Jail.
