- The family of a metro bone marrow transplant patient Tammy Smale is hosting “For Shirts and Giggles”, a 5K run/walk to benefit patients in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at the University of Kansas Hospital. The run/walk will be held Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at Roe Park, I-435 and Roe. A barbeque lunch will follow. There is a $50 entry fee with every dollar raised going to purchase t-shirts for bone marrow transplant patients. If you’d like to attend, e-mail daviddsmale@gmail.com
