One Escaped Inmate Captured, Another on Loose
WINFIELD, Kan — Authorities captured Frank Crutchfield the morning of June 20, one of the two inmates who escaped from Winfield Correctional Facility on June 16.
According to a news release from the Kansas Department of Corrections, Crutchfield, 48, was arrested by Wichita Police Department officers at a residence in Wichita. A CrimeStoppers tip alerted authorities of Crutchfield’s whereabouts.
Still missing after the escape is inmate Robert Cook, 52. The two escaped from the Winfield Correctional Facility Saturday, driving a state-owned truck that was found abandoned the next day. Authorities believe the inmates then stole a dark blue 2006 GMC Sierra with a Kansas license tag of 74914, with “City of Douglass” marked on each door.
