Suspect Shoots at Lee’s Summit Police Officer

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Thursday night after shooting at a Lee’s Summit police officer.

According to police, officers were sent to the 500 bock of NE Howard Avenue to investigate a report of a suspicious person. Police said when they arrived they located the suspect. Both the officer and the suspect exchanged gunfire. The suspect then took off running, but was caught and arrested a short time later. The suspect’s weapon was also recovered in the area.

Police said no one was injured in the incident.
