Effort to Recall City Councilman Jermaine Reed Fails
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Councilman Jermaine Reed will keep his job after opponents attempted to oust him from office. An effort to collect signatures for a recall fell short.
The group was short 1,000 signatures of what they needed for the recall petition. Some people who live in Kansas City’s 3rd district feel Reed hasn’t done enough for homeowners who will have to move for a new police station. About 60 residents will be displaced by the project which has a price tag of $57 million. The new police station will be located near 27th & Prospect.
