Woman Held Hostage, Sexually Assaulted in Leavenworth
LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — Leavenworth police are looking for a man suspected of holding a woman hostage and sexually assaulting her over a period of two days.
According to the Leavenworth Times, police said on Wednesday, June 20, police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 2900 block of Ralph Bunche Drive. When police arrived, the suspect ran from the home and officers followed suit but lost track of him.
Police said the woman told authorities she had been held against her will for several days and had been sexually assaulted. She was taken to an area hospital for her injuries and released.
Although police have identified the suspect, they have not released his name. Their investigation continues.
