Family: Missing Leavenworth Teen Found Safe

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — The family of a missing teenage girl say that she has been found safe in Hiawatha, Kansas.

Jenna Marie Hord, 16, had not been seen since a fight on Wednesday night at a Leavenworth convenience store between an old boyfriend and a new boyfriend. Police issued an Amber Alert for her on Thursday afternoon, thinking she may have been taken against her will.

Hord’s family confirmed to FOX 4 that she was found safe by authorities in Hiawatha on Thursday evening. Her ex-boyfriend, 17-year-old Logan Burris, was found with her.

There is no word on any charges in the alleged abduction.

According to Hord’s family, Burris has a history of violence against their daughter, including a beating last April that sent her to the hospital.
