LEAWOOD, Kan. — A trip to the movies turned into a real life drama for a Kansas City woman after a man tried to take her picture in the restroom. Several hours after the incident, police found the man tucked away in the ceiling of the theatre.

Keyaira Faceson was with her sister at the AMC’s Town Center Theatre on Monday night when she went to use the restroom.

“Just a quick in-and-out is what I thought it was going to be,” Faceson said.

At first she thought she was alone. Then she saw a camera phone.

“My guard was up and I screamed something explicit and was like, ‘What is going on’? Like seriously, and he pulled the phone up and goes, ‘Sorry,’” Faceson said.

She said sorry didn’t cut it.

“I’m trying to get him out of his stall. I’m like, ‘I see you! Get out of here. Are you kidding me?’” she said. “And he stayed in that stall locked away. He would not let me in.”

Faceson backed out of the bathroom but kept an eye on the door. She asked a theater employee for help. That person called police. Police checked the restroom but the suspect was gone.

“They’re like, ‘Come in here and tell us where he was,’” she said. “I go in and they see  that he has moved a tile out of the ceiling and climbed into the ceiling,” she said.

For the next several hours, theater employees, Leawood police and firefighters searched the building in an attempt to flush the suspect out.

“I got a call and they said they did find him hiding, and I’m excited,” she said. “That’s a relief for me.”

The suspect is expected to be charged on Wednesday. Faceson said detectives told her they will be checking all of the man’s electronic devices and home computer for pictures. She says she’ll definitely cooperate to help prosecute the suspect.
