How to Care for Pet Rabbits

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rabbits make good pets — in the right home. People typically adopt rabbits around Easter time, and by July they realize they’re not quite the pet they thought they would be. So in July shelters tend to see an influx of rabbits needing new homes. That’s why July is Adopt a Shelter Rabbit Month.

Brock Exline with KC Vet Care explains how to better care for rabbits, saying that rabbits really don’t like to be picked up. They tend to do better in quiet environments where they aren’t manhandled too much.
