WASHINGTON, Mo. — Friends and family mourn the sudden death of a 17-year-old girl, killed last week when her car was hit by a car driven by a 13-year-old girl.
It happened in Franklin County, Mo, at the intersection of Highway 100 and Highway 47, about 50 miles west of St. Louis. Aubrey Nothum was sitting at a stop light just after midnight when the 13-year-old, who was driving her parents’ car, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into Nothum’s car.
The Franklin County sheriff has asked that the 13-year-old face second degree murder charges.
Nothum was supposed to start her senior year in high school this fall. She was also the mother of an 18-month-old son named Jaxson. She is also survived by her parents, a sister and a brother.
