KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pair of Ohio boys who allegedly stole a car from a family member over the weekend to go on a cross-country road trip have been picked up by police in Kansas City, Missouri, on Monday morning.

Cole Johnson and Raheem Harris, both 13, were reported missing from their Columbus, Ohio, homes on Saturday after they took a car – identified as a blue BMW – from Johnson’s family.

According to Kansas City Missouri Police, the pair were found safe around 7:15 a.m. Monday morning near 8th and Grand in downtown Kansas City by officers responding to a suspicious vehicle call.

According to a Facebook post from the boys, the pair had run out of gas. Police would not confirm that was the case. Police did say the boys were sleeping in the car when they found them.

Police say that the boys used a credit card in St. Louis, and had posted on Facebook that they were headed to California.
