First Quintuplets for 2012 Born in Dallas
DALLAS — An effort to give a boy a brother or sister ended with a couple adding five new members to their family. Carrie and Gavin Jones are the proud parents of quintuplets. Carrie gave birth to David, Grace, Marcie, Seth and Will on August 9.
“People kept saying, ‘God did this. You didn’t choose this. He will be with you,” said Carrie Jones.
A combined team of 50 doctors, nurses and specialists helped with the birth of the babies. They were born at 27 weeks and are now in the neo-natal intensive care unit. Carrie took fertility drugs to help her conceive and now says it’s tough seeing her little ones in ICU.
“I’m very emotional but very happy,” she said.
The Jones family lives on the Island of New Guinea. One set of grandparents who lives in Duncanville, Tex. says their glad to have three new grandsons and two new granddaughters.
The five new members of their family are the first quintuplets to be born in the U.S. in 2012.
