Fmr. Volleyball Star Gunned Down in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS — A former all-star volleyball player from St. Louis University was shot and killed hours before she was scheduled to play in an alumni volleyball game.
According to KTVI in St. Louis, Megan Boken, 23, was shot while she was sitting inside her car parked outside an apartment complex where she once lived in the Central West End. Authorities said they believe the suspect opened the victim’s car door before firing shots from a handgun, striking Boken in the neck. She later died at an area hospital.
Police said they do not think Boken and the suspect knew each other and that the incident may have been motivate by robbery.
Police described the suspect as a black man in his twenties. He wore a charcoal grey shirt, khaki pants and white tennis shoes.
