House Fire Spreads to Neighboring Homes in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A house fire near 34th and Wabash spread to two other homes, causing significant damage Thursday morning.
Fire fighters said the fire started just before 1 a.m. at a vacant home. Dry conditions enabled the fire to spread easily to the homes on either side. Six people were inside one of the homes, but all were able to make it out safely. No one was inside the other home at the time.
A person who lived in one of the neighboring homes said he spent the last 10 years renovating the house that caught fire.
No one was injured in the blaze, however a firefighter suffered heat exhaustion and was taken to an area hospital for an evaluation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
