Chiefs Make Final Roster Cuts

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs have announced their final roster cuts as the team prepares for their season opener against the Atlanta Falcons on September 9th.

The Chiefs had to get their active roster down to 53 players by today. The team waived 17 players, terminated two veteran contracts and moved two players to the injured reserve list.

Beginning at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, all NFL clubs may establish a practice squad of eight players by signing free agents who do not have an accrued season of free agency credit or who were on the 46-player active list for less than nine regular season games during each of any accrued seasons. A player cannot participate on the practice squad for more than three seasons.
