Silver Alert Called Off: Woman Contacts Her Family

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities cancelled a Silver Alert for a missing Kansas City woman Monday after she contacted her family and friends and is reportedly in good health.

Carol O’Brien, 65, checked herself out of St. Luke’s North Hospital on Barry Road in Platte County around 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. According to Kansas City Missouri Police, O’Brien has diabetes, high blood pressure and had undergone back surgery, and has mental issues stemming from her medical condition and medications.

Police say that she did not have all prescribed medications with her – and the ones she did have, she did not know how to properly administer to herself.
