OMAHA -- A typical day at the office turned into some unexpected excitement at a t-v station in Omaha. That's because the newsroom was invaded by a bat!
Staff at KETV said their day was anything but slow on Saturday. In fact, they say the day drove them "batty'.
A bat swooped down from the ceiling and spent an hour fluttering through the newsroom. The staff tried several different approaches to capturing the animal. Some people took cover as the bat explored the area while others actively tried to get the animal out of the building.
"Several time I felt like my life was completely in danger," said Holly McCarthy Meteorologist.
There weren't too many people who were fans of the bat being inside.
"I don't like bats. They belong outside," said producer Sara Rotterdam. "They don't belong in my newsroom."
After an hour of team work that included an animal control expert, an employee was the one who knocked the unwelcome guest to the floor with a box top ending the reign of terror.
