Wife Finds Husband Dead in Truck
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One woman is grieving after finding her husband shot to death in his truck.
On Tuesday night Deborah Espino said she kissed her husband, Jose Espino, goodbye, left their home on Colorado Avenue in Kansas City and headed to work. Hours later, on Wednesday morning, Deborah said she found husband of three years dead.
Deborah first thought her 35-year-old husband, who often slept in his truck, had dozed off, but as she got closer to the vehicle, she realized he had been shot.
“Yeah, it was terrifying finding him like that,” she said. “I’m so sad. They took a giving person who loved his children and entire family.”
Jose Espino is being remembered as a loving father and hardworking, self-employed construction worker. Family members say next week he was looking forward to celebrating his daughter’s 15th birthday.
Police have no leads in this case. They’re asking anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
