Pre-Teen Kansas Boy Charged with Rape

HIAWATHA, Kan. — Brown County prosecutors filed rape and sodomy charges against a 12-year-old Hiawatha, Kan., boy, the Topeka Capital-Journal reports.

Hiawatha is about 45 minutes west of St. Joseph, Mo., and is the county seat of Brown County, Kansas, with a population of about 3,200 people.

According to the report, the child was charged Sept. 6, with two counts rape and two counts aggravated criminal sodomy, but Brown County Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Hill said he couldn’t comment on any other details about the age or number of victims or the suspect.
