Officer Shoots Suspect During Investigation

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A KCK Police officer suffered minor injuries during an investigation early Saturday morning. Police were called to 9th & Argentine Blvd. to check out a prowler call.

When officers arrived they observed a man getting into a car. The suspect started the car and attempted to drive away with an officer lodged between the door and the suspect.

The officer fired his gun in attempt to get the suspect to stop and free himself from the car. The suspect then lost control of the car and crashed into a nearby parked car.

The suspect and the officer both sustained non-life threatening injuries.

No word on any charges the suspect may face.
