Suspect Charged in KCK Murder, Search On for Second Suspect

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A man has been charged in the shooting death of another man during an apparent rolling gun battle in Kansas City, Kansas, earlier this week.

Daniel Barlett, 29, faces first-degree murder and criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle charges in connection to the death of Chad Ford in a gun fight in the 1300 block of North 48th Street on Monday morning.

Barlett, a.k.a. “Devil Boy”, is being held in the Wyandotte County Jail in lieu of $1,000,000 bond.

A second defendent, Michael McKeehan (pictured at right) is still at large. He faces a criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle charge in connection to the case.

According to witnesses, the occupants of two vehicles were seen shooting at each other. One person, Ford, was struck and later died at an area hospital.
