Wife Shoots Husband After He Threatens Cat

HOUSTON, Texas — A woman is behind bars after shooting her husband during an argument. Police say Audrey Deen Miller shot her husband after an argument over one of their cats.

Miller’s 42-year-old husband allegedly made comments that he was going to hurt her cat.

“She made comments of some nature that he was going to harm her cat, and…she pointed the weapon at him and shot him in the stomach,” said Sgt. Eddie Hazel with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Miller was arrested when police responded to the couple’s home. Neighbors say they’re surprised to hear this would happen.

“They’ve been nice neighbors and quiet. I think they’re leasing the home, but they’ve been very nice,” said neighbor Debra Best.

Miller’s 42-year-old husband is recovering. The cat was not hurt.
