KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The overall job picture for most of the nation is slow, business is booming in Wyandotte County as it has been named one of the top counties in the country for job growth.
According to a new report from the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in Wyandotte County is up four percent from March 2011 to March 2012. That makes the county the 19th best county for job growth in the nation, and easily the top county in the Kansas City metro for jobs.
Nationally, job growth over the same period is only 1.8 percent. In Johnson County, there was a 3.y percent rise, while other counties across the metro area registered much smaller rises, or even slight increases in unemployment.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks the largest 329 counties in the nation.
