Friends, Classmates Rally for Friend Fighting Brain Tumor

MISSION, Kan. — A Shawnee Mission North High School senior has been in the battle of his life over the last few weeks as he fights a brain tumor.

But while Daran Wankum hasn’t been able to see his friends in weeks, his friends have been paying him visits and bringing lots of words of encouragement.
