KU Student Robbed While Swinging on Swing Set

LAWRENCE, Kan. — University of Kansas police are asking students and staff to be on guard and report to them any unusual people or activities they might see.

This crime alert comes after a KU student reported that she was robbed at about 8:00 p.m. on Monday.

The woman said she was swinging on a swing set between Irving Hill Road and Stouffer Place Apartments when she was approached by a man with a gun. He demanded her property, so she gave him her cell phone and ipod.

She described the robber as a tall black man, about 6’2″, approximately 170 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask and a gray hoodie.
